I woke up this morning to discover an article about fashion astrology on vogue.com. Better late than never, I suppose. Curiously, there was a disclaimer that the story was based on “vibes.” Maybe they should have dropped me a line so that they could have based the article on expertise . . .
Oh well! I can’t really complain too much about Condé Nast because they did hire me for a while more than two decades ago. However, it was well-known that Anna Wintour didn’t like anything to do with astrology or horoscopes in “Vogue” itself, so I was stationed at “Teen Vogue.” Amy Astley herself called me out-of-the-blue and gave me the job. It was a big deal, and truly a feather in my cap. Anna Wintour actually knew who I was and provided editorial guidance on some articles I contributed. I also had spreads in different Condé Nast international titles, including a layout in “Glamour.” I used to do vanity searches of my name only to discover articles in Turkish, Swedish, Portuguese, and other languages that I couldn’t read. This was before Google translate was a thing. I know, right?
Anyway, the article was okay: a photo spread of street-style looks worn by celebrities and the magazine’s own fashion editors. My fellow Capricorn, Sarah Mower, was there in the Capricorn section along with Diane Keaton. I’ve told Sarah that her chart resembles Diane Keaton’s chart before, and the photo evidence corroborates my findings. Kate Moss was also there — in the wrong section! Kate Moss is a Capricorn, not a Scorpio. That’s the sort of thing that doesn’t get past a guy who has called himself “the world’s foremost expert on astrological style” for the last twenty-five years.
My point is that I’m still here. Anyone who would like to discuss fashion astrology with me can simply drop me a line. I’d be thrilled to collaborate with you. I’d probably even send you a copy of my last book. I might not be blogging about fashion astrology every day, but I still am the guy who virtually “wrote the book” on the subject back in 2000 when I published “Cosmically Chic.” Not only that, I published the sequel, “Star Struck Style,” back in 2017. I don’t need your money, but I do enjoy credit where credit is due. I also feel delighted by the privilege to discuss my life’s work. It feeds my soul. Just like sitting here at my computer in Missoni socks and Tom Ford underwear feeds my soul. I’m still that guy. Just because I’m not begging for your attention on social media doesn’t mean that I’ve gone anywhere.
So, click the “About Me” link above and drop me a line. I’d love to hear from you.
