Trinity the Tuck (source: Cosmopolitan)

December 10 is Trinity the Tuck’s birthday.

I don’t believe that there has ever been a queen on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” who has won me over in the way that Trinity the Tuck has won me over. When she first walked into the workroom on the ninth season of the show, I wasn’t impressed at all because I had seen so many seasoned pageant queens refuse to accept constructive criticism once they were cast on the show. I figured that Trinity was going to be another Naysha Lopez, and that was the last thing I wanted to see on “Drag Race” just one season after Lopez was eliminated for her wine-cooler-drunk-mom-doing-a-lip-sync-at-the-church-BBQ version of “Applause” by Lady Gaga.

But Trinity surprised me, and by the time the finale arrived, I was actively rooting for her to win the crown. To be fair, I was actively rooting for a four-way tie in “Season 9.” All four queens who made it to the end were in it to win it. There has never been less dead weight in the final four on any other “Drag Race” season.

I was thrilled to see Trinity cast on “All Stars 4,” and somewhere on this blog I actually picked her to win before the season even aired (noting that my endorsement was often a kiss of death). I had based that prediction upon talent alone, but maybe I should have looked at her horoscope first.

Trinity has at least four planets in Sagittarius: the sun, Venus, Saturn and Uranus. The moon moved into Sagittarius, as well, at about 11:00 AM on the day that she was born. Mercury is sitting minutes away from the Scorpio/Sagittarius cusp in Scorpio (it was stationary just a day before her birthday). Pluto is well-placed in Scorpio, and Mars is in its detriment in Libra.

The most interesting thing about Trinity’s chart is that it resembles Sharon Needles’ chart more than it resembles Shangela’s chart. Sharon Needles and Trinity both were juggernauts on the show in the first season in which they appeared, but Trinity’s growth arc mirrored Shangela’s arc more in the way that the two of them dominated much of their “All Stars” seasons. Unfortunately, I still don’t have a time of birth for Shangela to even confirm that she has a Sagittarius sun. There is a small chance that she was born just before the sun moved out of Scorpio.

Anyway, if I were to rewrite my “RuPaul’s Drag Race Zodiac Dream Team” today, I would replace Shangela with Trinity just because there is no doubt in my mind that Trinity is a Sagittarius who exemplifies all the best qualities of the sign, including boundless enthusiasm, open-mindedness and a jack-of-all-trades character. What isn’t Trinity good at?
