Venus meets Mars in Virgo today. A lot of astrologers are discussing the conjunction in terms of romance, and I understand why they would: this is a sexy combination of planets. I should know because I have Venus conjunct Mars in my natal chart and I ooze sex appeal. I oooooze it!
But enough about me! Knowing that these planets were meeting up today inspired me to visit astrotheme.com to use the search tool to see who else has this sexy, sexy conjunction in their natal charts. The results were hilarious! I set the program to search the database using a 2° orb, and I literally burst out laughing at the results.
The Astrotheme search tool defaults to a “popularity” setting in “descending” order, meaning that the results are sorted from most-popular to least-popular based upon the amount of times the individual was searched for by name on the site. First on the list of the sexy, sexy people who have their natal Venus and Mars conjunct was Adolf Hitler. Just when I thought that it couldn’t get any worse, the second most-popular person with a Venus/Mars conjunction was Kanye West, followed by that other world-renowned sex symbol, Mahatma Gandhi. Gross!
A few genuine sex symbols did show up in the top ten. Dwayne Johnson and Cristiano Ronaldo were on the list. Carmen Electra and Amber Rose showed up when I did a second search for women only. What I did notice more than anything was that there were plenty of people on the list who were more “magnetic” than sexy, including one frosty celebrity who shares my Venus and Mars conjunction in Aquarius: Carolyn Bessette Kennedy.
I can see how this conjunction could be described as something that endows an individual with personal magnetism rather than sex appeal. To me, sex appeal is going to be a more primal, instinctive thing, anyway. Perhaps that’s why astrologers who actually practice synastry focus on the moon.
Anyway, it was an eye-opening experience. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some sexy, sexy oozing to do while the stars are on my side . . .
