Skunk (source: strathcona.ca)

I went to let my cat inside last night and there was a skunk in my yard. Surprise! I love feeding all the critters that show up in my garden, but I’m not sure how much I want skunks hanging around my house. It was lucky for me that I walked out just as the skunk was raising its tail. If I had come a moment later, my cat could have been sprayed. Or I could have been sprayed!

The universe should be full of surprises this week. Venus in Virgo forms a trine with Uranus in Taurus early in the week, followed by Mars doing the same thing a couple of days later. The new moon in Virgo then follows on Friday, and both the moon and the sun trine Uranus shortly afterward.

Uranus has been stuck on the same degree for a while (the planet has only moved about 6″ since its station on August 11). Anyone with planets or angles situated at 6-7° in any of the earth signs has the potential to benefit from whatever surprises the universe has to offer.

The secret to making this week positive will be in your outlook. All these Virgo influences can highlight one’s inability to see the big picture. We can focus on minor inconveniences — like a surprise visitor — while forgetting that every single event affects our timing. For many of us, this will be a good time to appreciate what you’ve managed to avoid. Remember that while Uranus is receiving all this positive attention, it’s also making hard aspects. People with planets or angles at 6-7° in the fixed signs in their natal charts might not be thanking their lucky stars in the week ahead. Maybe their timing won’t be so terrific when they discover a skunk in their yard.
