April 19 is Saskia de Brauw’s birthday.
What is going on this week? Every time I look up a natal chart, I can’t find an accurate time of birth, and the default chart on astrotheme.com has the moon (or some other planet) sitting right on top of a sign cusp.
Take Saskia de Brauw’s horoscope, for example. At noon on the day that she was born, the moon was at 0°11″ Scorpio, opposite her 29° Aries sun. At least I can confirm that her sun is in Aries because it didn’t exit the sign in the Netherlands until the next morning.
Nevertheless, the model does have a unique chart. She was born during a full moon. She has both Mars and Venus in their respective rulers (Mars in Aries and Venus in Taurus). Both Jupiter and Saturn were retrograde in Libra on the day she was born, and just a couple of degrees apart.
I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that she has Capricorn for a rising sign. That would likely put the sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars in the fifth house (using Placidus houses). For a fashion model who achieved her greatest success when she returned to the business at the relatively ancient age of twenty-nine, an early-Capricorn rising makes just as much sense as a stellium in the expressive fifth house.
Normally, I would expect someone with three planets in Aries (including its ruler, Mars) to come out of the gate swinging, but de Brauw quit modeling as a teenager and returned to the business as an adult. That scenario gives me Capricorn vibes: we are the “comeback kids” of the zodiac, after all. Still, I’m just speculating — I have no idea what time she was born.
I’d love to find out, though. Earlier this week, I entered into a discussion of my craft with a famous model on Instagram. Once in a while, people find me and get back to me. I wish that it was a more-regular event because I’m starting to build up a relatively decent database of astrological info for people in the fashion biz. When people Google “fashion astrology,” I want them to find me rather than some dimwit pretender who posts garbage like “Pisces women love shoes!”
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to take my Bottega Veneta wallet to the mall and buy myself something special to celebrate the sun’s imminent ingress into Taurus. For us Capricorns, it’s time to show off!
