Star Struck Style

Mars enters my tenth house tomorrow where it will remain for about eight weeks. After that time, the red planet’s upcoming retrograde cycle will bring it back to that part of my chart from mid-February until the middle of June.

I already feel as if I am being handed a little more responsibility at both of my jobs. However, I’m not all that eager to pick up a lot more work without adequate compensation, so I doubt that I’m going to spend the next few months working my ass off as my horoscope might indicate. Been there, done that. Anyway, here’s what “Astrodienst” has to say about Mars’ ingress into my tenth house:

“More than any other, this influence arouses your ambition to achieve. If you can identify with a project, you will work extremely hard at it until it is done. It is especially important now that you find an independent project that requires your individual initiative and effort. You should try to gain independent authority in your work at this time because you are not likely to be very tolerant of other people’s authority over yourself. You prefer to be your own boss. But your energy will make an impression upon people who are in a position to help you, as long as you do not challenge them unduly. Conflicts with coworkers may arise if they feel threatened by your efforts to get ahead. You should try to play down such conflicts unless something real is at stake.”

Just two days ago, I arranged to take on a major project at one of my jobs that will have me working from home from late November through to the end of February. I also committed to extending another project that I’m currently working on. These “contracts” allow me to make a little extra money without leaving the comfort of my home, and I barely even notice that I’m working more because of the way I spread out the workload. What’s more, I feel as if I can “be my own boss.” No one even questions my output or efficiency because I don’t give them any reason to question me. My performance speaks for itself.

It’s a terrific situation to be in, even if it still makes me feel somewhat underemployed. Nevertheless, I have all the time in the world to do everything that I want to do. My house is clean. My yardwork is on schedule. I’m getting enough sleep and enough exercise. I even have more leisure time than I’ve had in years. Sure, I’d love to making way more money, but that always comes with taking on responsibilities that I soon regret. I don’t want to answer to anyone lately, and I’m sure that this Mars transit isn’t going to change that.

So, I’m thrilled to enter this new phase where being my own boss is encouraged by the stars. Maybe I’ll grow weary of the work by the time Mars makes its final move out of this part of my chart, but that doesn’t happen until the weather warms up next year, and I’ll probably be ready for a change anyway.

I’m looking forward to this transit. The timing couldn’t be better.
