Star Struck Style

“Pleasant First Impressions” is the title of my daily horoscope on astro.com. The passage refers to Venus’ conjunction to my ascendant, which was exact just a few hours ago. I would have used a photo of my own hands to illustrate this post if it wasn’t for the fact that I was stung by a wasp yesterday and my right hand looks like a shrink-wrapped ham.

Anyway, here’s what Robert Hand has to say about the annual event:

“This is one of the most favorable influences for personal relationships. You can readily express your love and affection, and others are likely to show their affection for you. Seek the company of others, because you are in a sociable frame of mind today. Today is also a good time to resolve any problems in your personal relationships. You will be able to discuss any tensions that exist without difficulty, assuring your loved one that your love is sincere. This is also a day when you may meet a new lover or friend. It is a good time for any necessary new encounters because the environment favors pleasant first impressions.”

The best part about this conjunction occurring at this time of year is that I’m super busy with my retail sales job, so making a good impression is important to me. In addition, Venus will be transiting my first house right up to the day of the winter solstice. I’m going to be able to show off the best side of my personality for the next four months. I’ve already resolved to use this time to focus on some of the more superficial things in life, including both my personal appearance and the appearance of my immediate environment. After a very challenging gardening season — the wettest summer on record — my yard could use some work.

At the least, this ingress should make me more easygoing. Venus just wants everything to be nice, and right now I can’t see myself disagreeing with whatever she is whispering in my ear. The only thing I need to worry about is what happens when she enters my second house right around the time that all the nice things I like start to go on sale. Until then, I’m just going to take this cosmic blessing for what it is and resolve to make my own little world a prettier place.

Wasp stings aside, I feel as if the universe is on my side right now . . .
