I just read that my province is getting it’s first Hermès boutique. That makes me happy. I’m addicted to their after-shave balms and they can be especially difficult to find in this part of the world.
Anyway, my horoscope on astro.com this morning is titled “Lavish Tastes.” It refers to Jupiter’s impending opposition to my natal Venus. This two-week transit is occurring just as Venus has entered my first house for a four-month stay. The prediction reads as follows:
“This is usually a very pleasant influence, indicating harmony in relationships and perhaps even a new relationship that will be of great significance in your life. You want love very much, and you are able to give it to those around you.
This influence encourages a taste for the lavish and beautiful, and you are not likely to let much stand in the way of what you want. Therefore you must be careful not to waste valuable resources and squander money. If you are cautious, it is possible to make excellent investments at this time, but only if you examine all of the possibilities very carefully. This influence has the negative attribute of carelessness, so you must concentrate on being careful.
On the physical level, this influence signifies the danger of gaining weight, because it stimulates your desire for rich, sweet and otherwise fattening foods. It may be necessary to avoid such food for awhile.”
I’m already a decadent character, so I really didn’t need the stars encouraging me to become more decadent. However, I think that I can get through the next two weeks without blowing a bunch of money that I don’t have. Instead, I can choose to show off the things I already own. My wardrobe is fabulous. People need to see it.
I also don’t think that I need to worry about gaining weight because this is typically my leanest time of the year. I’m energetic, I have plenty to do, and I’m not stuck inside my house with nothing to do besides visiting my fridge.
So, I think I’m going to take advantage of this transit by putting myself “out there.” I’m going to wear everything in my closet. I’m going to douse myself with cologne whenever I can. I’m going to open the bottle of Veuve Clicquot I have in my fridge and drink it by myself. What I’m not going to do is go further into debt to support a lifestyle that I only wish I had. As I inch towards a debt-free future, I need to remember how much better my life can be without that monkey on my back.
I guess I just resolved to put off my visit to the new Hermès store. C’ést la vie . . .
