I haven’t blogged for a couple of days. That isn’t unusual for me around this time of year. When the sun opposes my natal Neptune, I get flaky and lose my ability to focus on anything in particular. I also was suffering with a cold virus over the last week, and that just made things worse.
However, my focus is back this morning. Mercury meets up with the sun in my eighth house in a couple of hours from now, and both planets simultaneously form a sextile with my midheaven. I’m not only rediscovering some clarity, but also some ambition and the urge to transform my life by just doing “better” in general.
The timing of this conjunction comes just before the arrival of the new moon in my eighth house. “Café Astrology” describes the event as follows:
“This is a time of empowerment. It is a good time to focus on issues of intimacy as well as developing self-mastery skills. You may experience increased awareness of others — what makes them tick — as well as your own internal motivations during this period. It is a time when intimacy and deep levels of sharing are heightened. It is also a favorable time to start a financial plan, savings plan, take out a loan or consolidate, and do work in accounting.”
“Empowerment” feels good to me right now. My health was on the upswing after my operation, but this virus got the best of me. My seasonal yard work was way ahead of schedule, but now it’s just back on schedule. My house is clean and organized, but some more substantial issues have revealed themselves since the arrival of spring. My finances are in order, but I could be doing more to ensure that my debt load continues to evaporate.
For that reason, I’m going to do what I can to start of this upcoming new moon phase on the right foot by implementing some changes today. “Self-mastery” is on my mind, and I feel as if I have both the focus and the fortitude to move in a more positive direction over the next few weeks without feeling sorry for myself or becoming so introspective that I can’t get anything done.
With these aspects to my midheaven, and Jupiter just minutes away from reentering my tenth house, I feel like I’m “back to business” after a leave of absence. That doesn’t mean that I’m going to pick up a briefcase and rejoin the forty-hours-a-week workforce, but it does mean that I am going to attempt to rediscover a sense of ambition while the stars are on my side. By the time the new moon arrives on Saturday, I should already have a leg up on the competition.
Now that’s the most Capricorn-like thing I’ve posted in a while . . .
