A Star is Born (source: vox.com)

Astrologically speaking, this is my time of year!

Early tomorrow morning, Venus forms a trine with my natal Venus. A few hours later, the sun conjoins my ascendant as it moves into my first house. Venus is hot on the heels of the sun right now and it will enter my first house midweek. If that wasn’t enough to get me excited, Mars will also be within a degree of my natal Jupiter for the next several days. Just after it moves out of orb from its conjunction with Jupiter, the red planet begins its retrograde cycle and slowly passes over that point in my chart again a month from now.

Every year, I look forward to the sun’s ingress into my first house because it gives me a boost of confidence that makes me a little more outgoing and eager to have my voice heard. I can say the same for Venus’ transit through that part of my chart. With the two planets traveling in tandem, I’m going to be insufferable as I attempt to hog the spotlight like I’m trying to launch another version of “A Star is Born.”

Nevertheless, I’m very intrigued to discover how this Mars/Jupiter alignment is going to influence this particular remake. Of course, “Café Astrology” warns me about being too full of myself during the time of year that I’m already too full of myself:

“You are likely to feel especially energized and enthusiastic about what you believe in or regarding business ventures. The desire to do something about your beliefs or ideals is strong now, or you are in a position to stand up for your beliefs. Your sense of timing is excellent, all things considered. You more readily take chances, and you feel especially strong, positive, adventurous, confident, and energetic. You are looking to expand something right now — the bigger the better. You are competitive in a friendly manner, and you readily rise to a challenge now. You tend to do things in a big way. You may need to avoid the traps of overconfidence, arrogance, haste, or taking on too much.”

I guess that I should be glad that I’ve got a week of vacation while the planets are lined up in this fashion. I don’t want this period to be entirely about “business ventures” when I could be enjoying myself by doing things that stroke my ego. Interestingly, when Mars returns to this point in my horoscope in March of next year, the sun will be in my fifth house. It’s likely that I will be just as eager to push my way into the spotlight when that happens.

I honestly can’t wait. It feels good to be the star of the show again. It’s been far too long in between remakes . . .
