January 4 is Aja’s birthday.

Over the past few days, a couple of Capricorn queens from “RuPaul’s Drag Race” have reacted to my posts on Twitter, essentially letting me know that they have no hard feelings regarding my assessments of their performances on the show. For that reason, I should probably quit while I’m ahead. But I’m not going to do that!

I’ve taken a good look at all the Capricorn queens because I would really love to see a Capricorn take the crown this season. Watching Symone’s strong performance during the Season 13 premiere has me believing that one of my fellow goats might finally have a chance. But will she succumb to the one problem that has plagued almost every Capricorn queen who has sashayed onto the runway?

Of course, I’m talking about overconfidence. Practically every youthful Capricorn contestant on this show, Aja included, has walked into the workroom believing that she was the GOAT — the greatest of all time. And every one of them has had a very humbling slide back down to earth where they were forced to watch someone else making it to the top of the mountain before them.

The problem with Capricorns on shows like this is that the producers know it makes great TV to watch someone fall victim to their own hype. When Capricorns do win reality TV shows it is usually because they keep their cards a little closer to their chests. Queens like Aja, Silky Nutmeg Ganache, Laganja Estranja and Ra’Jah O’Hara were like amateur poker players who thought that they could bluff their way into a finale against professionals with a lifetime of experience in the game.

Aja came back to the show, however, in “All Stars 3,” humbled and ready to prove that she had grown up. While I was reluctant to embrace her as an “All Star,” she proved her worth to both me and most other fans of the show. That is a far more typical growth-arc for a Capricorn to follow. The famous astrologer, Sydney Omarr, used to call us goats “the comeback kids of the zodiac.” The older I get, the more that line makes sense to me.

There’s a rumor floating around that Ra’Jah O’Hara is going to be on the next installment of “All Stars.” I’d love to see that because her lip sync to James Brown’s “Living in America” is one of the best I’ve ever seen on the show. If she spends more time cultivating her undeniable talent and less time bitching about her competitors, she could be a contender — just like Aja.

Or maybe Symone could just win Season 13 so that my sign could have at least have one win on the board. Is that too much to ask, RuPaul? I guess we’ll find out soon enough . . .
