One of the reasons that I’m excited about the cast of Season 13 is that there are five queens competing for the crown who were born under zodiac signs that have yet to win the American version of the competition. Those signs include Aries, Libra, Scorpio and Capricorn. Even with an Aries and a Scorpio in the final four last season (Crystal Methyd and Sherry Pie, respectively), one of the two Sagittarius natives (Gigi Goode and Jaida Essence Hall) was declared the winner.
A few Aries natives have come close to taking home the prize. Raven has been a runner-up twice, and Miz Cracker recently made it all the way to the final episode on “All Stars 5.” Libra queens have done very well in the “Miss Congeniality” department, and BenDeLaCreme could have won “All Stars 3” if she didn’t walk away from the competition. Sherry Pie performed better than any Scorpio queen in “Drag Race” herstory, but we all know how that story ended. My fellow Capricorns have fared badly on RPDR, as well, but at least we get to claim Alyssa Edwards as one of our own. That’s some consolation prize!
As I mentioned already, there are five queens born under those four under-performing signs (according to the mostly-reliable site “Fandom”), so they all have a chance to snatch the crown and end the losing streak for their home team. Those five contestants include Denali (Aries), Tamisha Iman (Libra), Kandy Muse and Tina Burner (Scorpio), and Symone (Capricorn). From the pre-season interview clips, I have to say that I’m rooting for Symone, but that’s probably my pro-Capricorn bias talking. Still, I’ve seen a lot of photos of her not only looking good, but surprising me with her fashion choices. That’s a good sign, right?
As for the rest of the queens, their zodiac signs run the gamut: Rosé and Utica Queen (Gemini), Elliott with 2 Ts, Gottmik and Joey Jay (Leo), Kahmora Hall and LaLa Ri (Virgo), and Olivia Lux (Pisces).
A Gemini win would tie the sign with Cancer for the most regular-season wins. A Leo win would mean that someone would join Yvie Oddly in the winner’s circle, and a Virgo win would mean that Jinxx Monsoon was no longer the sole Virgo victor in the regular seasons (Trixie Mattel is also a Virgo). A Pisces hasn’t won the regular competition since Season One, but the “Drag Race Hall of Fame” is overflowing with Pisces fishiness already. Taking “All-Stars” seasons into account, more Pisces queens have worn the crown than other sign. Chad Michaels, Alaska and Monét X Change are all Pisces natives. Trinity the Tuck is a Sagittarius, making three wins in total for that sign, and Shea Couleé is an Aquarius.
Anyway, it’s not only fun for me to keep these stats, but also to anticipate which sign is going to end up as the all-time loser on the show. At this rate, it’ll probably be my own! Still, that’s not going to stop me from blogging about these queens. Even after thirteen seasons, I can’t get enough of this show, so stay tuned for more!

I’m reblogging this post from last year as I prepare to compile a list of the Season 14 queen’s zodiac signs. My pre-season favorite actually took home the crown last season. There’s a first for everything!
