November 3 is Colin Kaepernick’s birthday.
The first thing that I noticed when I looked up Colin Kaepernick’s natal chart is that he has a very close conjunction of the sun and Pluto in Scorpio. Even without a time of birth, I know that the farthest the two planets can be apart in his horoscope is about ninety minutes. It’s no surprise that he has virtually transformed the way that athletes protest social injustice in America. Combined with his natal moon, Jupiter and the north node all in Aries, this configuration ensured that he was born to be a trailblazer.
The next thing that I noticed is that his natal Mars in Libra is about a degree away from an exact opposition to where retrograde Mars in Aries will be parked for most of this month, and that his natal Jupiter in Aries is being squared almost exactly by the Jupiter/Pluto conjunction in Capricorn.
He’s probably having a rough, stressful day, like a lot of his fellow Americans. But plenty of people have terrible charts right now because of these transits, myself included.
However, one thing that happens when individuals who have a lot of cardinal planets are stressed is that they rise to the occasion. Cardinality represents a direct path forward. I keep telling myself that “the only way is up” from my current circumstances because my chart was probably as bad as it will ever be just a few weeks ago. The first professional astrologer I ever visited warned me about this year when I was nineteen or twenty. So, if this is the low point of my life, I’ll be okay.
Colin Kaepernick will be okay, too. By the end of this crappy year, things are really going change quickly for him. Hopefully, we’ll also see some changes by the end of this day. I couldn’t imagine a better birthday present for Colin Kaepernick than for him to see Donald Trump voted out of office.
