April 28 is Ann-Margret’s birthday.

When I’m trying to fit celebrities into the astrological categories I describe in my books, some of them make it easier for me than others. Take Ann-Margret, for example. No one else comes to mind when I describe the “girl-next-door” aesthetic that defines her zodiac sign. You only have to watch her star turns in “Bye Bye Birdie” and “Viva Las Vegas” to know exactly what I mean.

And you only have to look at her natal chart to figure out why she provides such a stellar example of signature Taurus style. Ann-Margret not only has her sun in Taurus, but also her moon, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus.

One of the most interesting things about her horoscope is that she has the sign of Taurus intercepted within the twelfth house. That would normally weaken the sign, but with six planets in the sign, that doesn’t really happen. If the time of birth provided on astrotheme.com is correct, she also has Gemini rising. That also puts her Aries Mercury, the ruler of her ascendant, in the twelfth house.

I can see that! She was a bit of a firecracker, despite all her earthy planets. She also was a bit of a fantasy in her prime: a little too good to be true. How could someone so sweet generate so much heat? That face! That hair! That body!

I’d like to say that there will never be anyone quite like her, but in 2000 there was a stellium in Taurus that likely gave rise to a generation of kids with similar charts. If I just looked around, I might find a few celebrities that share a lot in common astrologically with Ann-Margret. Maybe in the next couple of years, a few of them will steal the spotlight the way Ann-Margret did in her early twenties.

I can dream, can’t I?
