Miuccia & Raf (source: Vogue)

I woke up to the news that Raf Simons is joining forces with Miuccia Prada as Prada’s new co-creative director.

Of course, the first thing that crossed my mind was their astrological compatibility. Simons is a Capricorn and Prada is a Taurus.

Just yesterday, I was rambling on about my upcoming trip to Las Vegas and my fellow Capricorn, Elvis Presley. He filmed “Viva Las Vegas” at the Flamingo hotel with Ann-Margret, his Taurus co-star. That coupling has made me believe that there is no greater collaboration between any two zodiac signs. Of course, I’m a little biased . . .

Anyway, the most interesting thing about their natal charts is that they both have Gemini as a moon sign. In fashion, that’s probably a good thing because it makes them a little more fickle and subject to following their impulses. In other words, it keeps them from being boring. Both Capricorn and Taurus natives can find themselves stuck in a rut.

So, I have high hopes for this collaboration. I also think it’s time that I incorporated some Prada into my own closet. Just the other day, I was thinking about a Prada windbreaker that I regret not buying on Mr. Porter while it was on sale. I told myself that I was going to visit Prada in Las Vegas to try on some clothes in the event that I stumble across a good deal online in the future. It’s so much easier to make a big purchase online when you know how a brand fits. Just a few days later, this news was announced, making Prada even more appealing to me because my fellow Capricorn is now at the helm of the brand.

It’s like the universe is trying to tell me something. I can almost hear it telling me that I need more designer clothing . . .
