September 27 is Jason Wu’s birthday.

I like Jason Wu. He grew up in Western Canada, so he has that going for him. He’s also got a lot of planets in his natal chart situated in places that are harmonious to my planetary placements. Now that I see his chart, I can understand why I would like him.

Anyone born around his birthday in 1982 has a couple of mutual receptions in their chart: Mercury in Libra in mutual reception to Venus in Virgo, and Mars in Sagittarius in mutual reception to Jupiter in Scorpio. I suppose that it was lucky for Wu to be born with those strong placements because he has his Libra sun and (most likely) his Capricorn moon in signs where they are weakly expressed. I should note that if he was born very late in the day, his moon would be in Aquarius, not Capricorn. However, I don’t get Aquarius vibes from the designer.

For that reason, I imagine that he presents a very strong reflection of his rising sign. I’d love to know his time of birth. A Cancer rising would put a bunch of his natal planets into the fourth house, which would make sense to me. In “Star Struck Style,” I slotted him into the Cancer section because of the grown-up nature of his designs. He also reminds me a lot of many of the NYC-based designers who do some of their best work in the bridal business, like Vera Wang, Carolina Herrera and Oscar de la Renta. What’s more, I have strong Libra, Cancer and Capricorn influences in my chart, and I have a treasured Wooyoungmi blazer that looks just like the one Jason Wu is wearing in the photo above. It pairs-up beautifully with my shaved head.

Just the other day, Ross Mathews got back to me with his time of birth. Maybe Jason Wu will, too. Once in a while, celebrities do respond to my pleas for birth info, but often it’s a long time after I’ve written about them. Still, it gives me the opportunity to forward that information to astrotheme.com so that an accurate horoscope database can live on the internet forever.

That’s me, making the world a better place for astrologers . . .
