Maxine Waters (source: Yahoo!)

August 15 is Maxine Waters’ birthday.

I like Maxine Waters for one reason: she really knows how to get under Donald Trump’s skin. For that reason, I was expecting to find some Aries influences in her natal chart because Trump fights with Aries natives all the time.

Guess what I found? Aries influences! Waters not only has her moon in Aries, but also Saturn in the sign. What’s even more interesting is that her natal Mars is smack dab in the middle of Leo. Sharing the same sign as her strongly-placed sun, it makes the congresswoman into someone who will not back down from a fight.

I don’t want to idealize Waters because I know that she has had her own controversies, but I will admit that I get excited when I see her on cable news shows. She’s lacking in the sort of diplomacy I would expect from someone whose natal Venus sits in Libra: one of the signs over which it rules. However, with Mercury in Scorpio, she uses her mouth like a scorpion’s stinger, carefully striking when and where it counts. The section about Donald Trump on her Wikipedia page is filled with hilarious quotes that demonstrate her way with words. The first paragraph alone made me laugh out loud:

“Waters has called Trump ‘a bully, an egotistical maniac, a liar and someone who did not need to be President’ and ‘the most deplorable person I’ve ever met in my life’. In a 2017 appearance on MSNBC’s ‘All In with Chris Hayes,’ Waters said President Donald Trump’s advisors who have ties to Russia or have oil and gas interests there are ‘a bunch of scumbags’.”

There’s nothing like someone who knows how to get to the point!

Anyway, there is something else in Waters’ chart that caught my eye. People born in her generation are going to see a Pluto opposition forming in their chart in 2023-2024.  Some people born shortly after Maxine Waters in 1939 and 1940 will have a Pluto in Leo that sits in opposition to the place where the upcoming Jupiter/Saturn synod occurs. Any planet that makes close aspects to that degree is going to be consequential, but to think that there is a whole group of people with Pluto situated on this axis is quite alarming.

I know that we like to think that the children are the future and that a younger generation might come along to save us all from ourselves, but I kind of get the feeling that there will be plenty of power struggles in the near future with individuals born in that 1939-1940 generation.

I guess that I can’t predict an outcome to the situation because there is likely to be “very fine people on both sides” of the issues with Pluto in the second or third degree of Leo. Still, I can’t look at what I know is about to occur and come up with any other scenario other than “epic power struggle.”

I wonder what my fellow astrologers have to say about this upcoming event? Probably just a bunch of bullshit about “healing” and “the journey of the soul.” Ha! I’d better stop. I’m starting to sound like Maxine Waters . . .
