July 25 is Iman’s birthday.

I can think of a few Leo models off the top of my head, but none of them can hold a candle to Iman. Even those Leos would likely agree that there has never been anyone quite like her. I can’t imagine that Cara Delevingne, Karlie Kloss or Stephanie Seymour would argue with me. Leo natives might big egos, but they are typically clever enough to know when they’ve been beat. Like Capricorns, they rarely get into fights they can’t win. Aries natives, on the other hand . . .

I often cite those three signs when I’m discussing the biggest egos in the zodiac. For that reason, it surprised me that Iman and David Bowie had such a long-lasting relationship. He was a tremendously accomplished Capricorn, and he had every right to have a huge ego. She was a legend in the fashion business and one of the most beautiful women in the world. Giant egos like that often collide, especially in this particular combination. For this astrologer, a Leo/Capricorn couple seems doomed. Eventually, one of the two is going to assert dominance, and the other one is not going to acquiesce.

Their natal charts don’t show much more promise, although I don’t have a time of birth for Iman, and David Bowie’s time of birth on astrotheme.com is 9:00 on the nose, indicating that it is probably an estimate. Still, I see a lot of conflict in their planetary positions. I have no idea how they made it work.

I will admit that synastry (chart comparison to assess compatibility) is not really my thing. Yet I’m good enough at this stuff to see the red flags right in front of me. It makes me wonder if anyone else has done an in-depth comparison of these charts.

I’m probably going down another rabbit hole with this one. If I come across anything interesting, I’ll let you know next January when David Bowie’s birthday arrives . . .
