Mars enters Pisces tomorrow after spending a long, long time in Aquarius. I’ve been reading what other astrologers have to say about the transit, and I’m eager to put in my two cents.
I don’t believe that this is going to be a time when people are more spiritually aware, compassionate or in touch with their intuition. I’m not going to sugar-coat my prediction: I’m worried about the sort of idiots who make themselves into martyrs over an idiotic cause. I’m worried about the crazies out there.
Mars has a “me first” attitude and Pisces has a “poor me” attitude. What happens when those things combine? People feel sorry for themselves. They see themselves as victims in scenarios where they are hardly the victim. And then they lash out.
We’re seeing this occur all over the world right now with the rise of so-called “nationalism.” I can see plenty of self-deluded individuals reacting in an aggressive and irrational way during this six-week transit.
What you can you do to avoid aggressive irrationality? Don’t accept it. When someone says something crazy to you, let them know why you believe they are behaving in a manner that is unacceptable. Don’t coddle mental illness. Your compassion will only strengthen the resolve of those who are ill. Stand your ground (like St. Lucy did when they tried to hitch her up to those oxen). Until the end of the year, it might be the most important thing you can do.
I don’t want anyone to believe that I’m entirely devoid of compassion, but I also don’t want anyone to find themselves in a tragic situation because they have allowed compassion to eclipse their common sense.
