So, it’s Halloween. It’s funny how things work sometimes because today is a great day to think about who you want to be in the upcoming year.

Mercury moved into Sagittarius this morning where it will spend an unusually long time as a result of its upcoming retrograde cycle. Mercury is weak and a little rash in Sagittarius. It makes us want to take the easy way out. We often get into trouble at this time by making idealistic choices that defy both conventional logic and practicality (like an American choosing to not cast a vote in next Tuesday’s election in order to protest the current government). There is a Karmic quality to this retrograde phase, too, as the planet backtracks into Scorpio in early December. Your words and deeds may come back to haunt you.

Venus also switches signs today, moving back into Libra. It’s retrograde phase ends mid-November, but it doesn’t move back into Scorpio until early December, as well. It also makes its retrograde opposition to Uranus — the second of three conjunctions in this current cycle. Relationship issues you thought were dead and buried back in September may be unexpectedly resurrected. Beware of what you may have posted on social media seven weeks ago. Through its connection with the eleventh house, Uranus is associated with electronic media and Libra is connected with passive/aggressive bullshit. That’s a terrifying combination!

Much more action occurs in the first week of November, especially next Thursday when Jupiter enters Sagittarius and the mask comes off. For the next year or so, we are going to be forced to be more authentically ourselves than we have been for a while — but I’ll get to that in a few days. For now, pull off the mask and take a good look at yourself in the mirror. Before you decide who you’re going to be in 2019, you need to figure out if you’re a monster or not.
