Too Much (source: pexels.com)

I woke up this morning to find much of my garden shredded after another huge hailstorm. This is nothing new for me, but the twenty or so inches of rain we’ve experienced in this part of the world over the last two months is a novel challenge. I’m typically complaining about how much time I spend watering my plants this time of year.

Anyway, this uncooperative weather is just one of the things that is testing my resilience this summer. I’m also dealing with wildfire smoke, a plague of mosquitos and homegrown neo-fascists. It’s all too much.

Today is the sort of day that could see me reaching a breaking point. The sun is about to oppose Pluto, Saturn is turning retrograde, and transiting Mars is forming a square with my natal Uranus. Nevertheless, I feel as if I need to turn my back to everything bad that is happening around me. Curiously, the north node enters Aquarius today, so maybe the universe is telling me that developing some more emotional distance from all this bullshit is the coping strategy that I need to adopt in this moment. Aquarius can be a pretty frosty place.

So, I’m going to take this event as my cue to retreat even further into my own little world. Maybe I’ll reconsider this strategy once the north node moves into my fourth house in the first week of October, but for now obliviousness is going to be my coping mechanism.

I suppose it’s better than going on a killing spree . . .
