Foundation (source: This Old House)

Saturn is only a few minutes away from the degree where it will resume direct motion on October 23. For most of us, nothing will be moving quickly enough while the ringed planet is virtually “stuck” in the sky. Nevertheless, a Saturn station provides us with a terrific time to lay the foundation for future growth. Put in the work now to build a solid base — whatever that means to you.

For me, I’m getting rid of a few of my credit “products.” I don’t need to be carrying so much debt, and I’m making way more money than I was just a couple of years ago. In a year from now, I’ll be visiting Las Vegas again with the feeling that I can actually afford to be a decadent mess for a few days every year. I’m also participating in some training that will allow me to update all my fitness certifications next year without having to scramble to earn the required continuing education credits. I’m working hard to put my garden to bed for winter, too, so that I don’t have such a big mess to clean up once spring arrives.

This kind of practicality should be “in the air” this season with so many planets in air signs making harmonious alignments to stationary Saturn in Aquarius, so it’s not just Saturn-ruled guys like me who will be feeling the urge to put in the groundwork. You might be eager to make practical decisions at the moment because they will feel as if they can provide you with more solid footing in the future.

So, take advantage of the current cosmic climate to build a better foundation. Decisions you make right now will have an enormous impact upon the next few months. This is one of those times when the old adage “slow and steady wins the race” could not have more credence.
