I finally broke down and got a new phone. I can be sort of a dinosaur when it comes to new technology. I’m not resistant to learning how to use tech. However, I can be eager to leave it all behind me when I’m not at home or at work. I enjoy the freedom I feel when I’m away from all my devices. For that reason, I haven’t felt the need to upgrade my phone for a while. Who needs a computer in their pocket when they rarely take it out of their pocket?

But I do like taking photos of birds and flowers and squirrels and bugs and whatever else I come across in my travels. Maybe now that I’ve got a good phone and a reasonable data plan, I’ll start to become more sociable again on social media. My Instagram page has been neglected for far too long.

Astrologically, it’s a good time for me to start getting “out there” again. Mercury enters my third house tomorrow shortly before the moon does the same thing. Just before that happens, the new moon arrives in my second house. I’ve already decided how I’m going to embrace that annual event, and I’ve even made some preliminary steps to ensure that I’m not going to squander the power that this eclipse will bestow upon me. By the time I’m out of bed on Tuesday morning, however, the sun will also enter my expansive third house, resulting in a five-week period where I should feel more like myself. The third house is the home of both my natal sun and my natal Mercury, after all, and the reason that I’m a natural-born communicator.

I guess I’ll find out how this shift in the stars will effect me soon enough. It would be nice to feel more eager to face the world again. My chart has had me looking inward for a very long time, and I welcome the opportunity to reverse that trend. With the help of a few planets, I might get there soon. Or maybe I just need to flood the internet with photos of myself having a good time like so many influencers on social media. That will convince everyone I’m back, right?

Does anyone know where I can buy one of those selfie sticks?
