Venus entered Sagittarius this morning where it will remain for the next four weeks or so.
It’s a welcome shift in energy. While Venus was transiting Scorpio, Mars was in mutual reception in Libra for the most part (except for four days in September). Both of the planets were in the signs of their detriment, but neither of them were behaving in a particularly insidious manner. Nevertheless, they were underperforming.
Now that Venus has moved on, our sense of justice will be highlighted. The sun is still traveling through Libra for a couple more weeks. Supported by Venus in Sagittarius, people who demand social justice could be thrust into the spotlight. Someone like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will likely be in the headlines considering that she possesses both a Libra sun and Venus in Sagittarius.
“Café Astrology” describes Venus’ time in the sign as follows:
“With this transit, romantic adventures and a straightforward and even blunt approach to love are on the agenda. We leave behind complexities and embrace directness and clarity. We take pleasure in seeking truth and higher meaning, and we’re open, sincere, and optimistic with others. While it’s not the best time for care with money, it’s vital for enthusiasm and spirit.”
One of the most interesting things about the astrology of 2021 is how “cool” the year has been without a lot of planets transiting the fire signs. Venus is Sagittarius will add a little “heat” to the cosmic climate, but without the “scorched earth” that is often left behind when a planet like Mars transits the sign. Compromise might in the air in the polarized world of American politics, even though Venus is an idealistic sign like Sagittarius. The urge to reach a consensus might actually prevail.
I’m happy to read that it’s “vital for enthusiasm and spirit.” I’m just about to see the sun and Mars enter my first house, and nothing would please me more than a big boost to my vitality. With my vacation on the horizon, the timing of this shift in the stars couldn’t be better for me. I’m so eager to feel enthusiastic about something!
It’s been a long time coming . . .
