Star Struck Style

I was thrilled to see to see my fellow Capricorn, Symone, take the crown on Season 13 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” last night. Even before I knew she shared my sun sign, she was my favorite. I remember watching the “Meet the Queens” videos before the season premiere and saying to myself “I want the smart one to win.”

That’s what I get from Symone. Everything she does makes me believe that she is one of the most clever girls ever to walk into the Werk Room.

Curiously, she was in the final two against Kandy Muse, a Scorpio. No other Scorpio has ever made it that deep into the competition. Nevertheless, Scorpio is the only zodiac sign that has never worn the crown on any version of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” including all the international versions. The breakdown of winners so far looks like this:

So, in twenty-five seasons, not a single Scorpio has won. With “Drag Race Down Under” about to premiere with no Scorpio queens in the cast, you can make that twenty-six seasons (twenty-seven if the casting rumors of “All Stars 6” are true). I don’t believe that the cast of the Spanish version of “Drag Race” has been revealed, so I haven’t included those queens in my statistics.

Anyway, I can only draw two conclusions from this evidence: either RuPaul is defending his own crown as the most famous Scorpio queen in herstory, or Scorpios are terrible at everything they do. Maybe it’s six of one, and half-a-dozen of the other.
