Wind Turbines (source: Nature)

Mars is very close to being in an exact trine with my natal Mercury today. Considering that the red planet is virtually stuck in the sky right now as it prepares to go retrograde, I’m going to be dealing with the way I’m feeling for quite some time. The aspect came within a 1° orb last Friday and it will remain that tight for another three weeks.

So, how is it making me feel? As if the windmills of my mind are spinning out of control. I’m about to go crazy if I don’t find some more exciting ways to spend my time!

Of course, I could sit at the computer and write. My mind is sharp at the moment. But that’s not really what I want to do. I felt like gardening the past few days, but it’s been annoyingly windy where I live. I could work out more, too, but I don’t want my current fitness routine to become any more routine now that I’ve changed it up significantly; the variety is doing me some good.

My horoscope on astro.com offers the following advice for this uncommonly-long configuration:

“This is an excellent time for all kinds of mental work and for negotiations and dealings with others. You should feel mentally alert now and able to put forth your point of view on any matter so that others understand it. Whether they agree with you or not, they will at least respect your opinions. In negotiations with others, you will be able to assert your position and make it carry, if that is your intention. This a good time for planning, writing or any other predominantly mental work. You have a good grasp of how situations relate to you personally, and you can make plans accordingly. This is a favorable time for traveling, because you have lots of energy and want to be on the go. It is most favorable for travel that involves physical effort, such as walking or bicycle riding.”

That’s a good horoscope! To be feeling both mentally and physically energetic at this time of the year is a cosmic blessing that I can’t take for granted. If I do end up going back to work at the end of the month (which is a likely scenario), I won’t feel like I’ve wasted the whole summer if the next few weeks prove to be productive.

Of course, I have a few other things to deal with, including my annual sun/Saturn opposition in two days from now. But between this trine and all the planets currently in Capricorn returning to direct motion, the next month or so looks very promising for me.

I’m looking forward to putting the worst part of this year behind me!
