Irina Shayk for Moschino (source: Twitter)

January 6 is Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele’s birthday. It’s also Irina Shayk’s birthday, and my birthday, too!

Here’s a photo of Irina Shayk from a recent Moschino campaign styled by Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele. Of course, this image speaks to my soul. You would only have to know me about five minutes to understand how much I adore camp.

But I’m supposed to be discussing Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele! She likes camp, too. We both have the sun in Capricorn and Venus in Aquarius. That combination of planets obviously has something to do with our aesthetic sense. I believe it makes us even more conscious of the image we construct, and contributes to our shared tongue-in-cheek sense of style. I have some major eleventh house/Aquarius influences in my chart (something that makes me perfectly comfortable with social media in general), but I also possess a Cancer moon that lends a note of caution to the image I promote online. Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele has a showy Leo moon, so I suppose that explains how overt her online persona has become. She’s been an Instagram star of the highest magnitude for years already — before I had even joined Instagram.

Still, the one thing that intrigues me the most about Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele is her self-branding. She puts her initials on everything she owns and adds #CCD hashtags to her social media posts. I would probably do the same, except my initials spell GAP, like the store. I once bought a Tumi backpack and the clerk asked me if I wanted to have my monogram on the bag. I declined to partake in the free service because I was afraid it would cheapen my purchase.

I should try to find out if she knows her time of birth. She’s quite responsive on social media and has liked my posts in the past, including posts I’ve made on other people’s accounts. I’m going to try.

Stay tuned . . .
