Mercury conjoins Jupiter today at about 7° Capricorn.

It should be easy for us to communicate today. However, it also might be easy for us to make promises that will be difficult to keep, especially if we have something to sell. I don’t work in sales anymore (and I have the day off from work), so I feel as if I’m off the hook. I was thinking about going to the mall, though, just to get out of the house for a while. Now I’m reconsidering my plans because this is the sort of aspect that causes me to spend money that I don’t have. I find myself rationalizing my fondness for excess when Jupiter is favorably aspected.

So, I think I’m going to work on communicating instead. Writing while I do some laundry doesn’t seem like a bad idea. I feel like I have energy to spare today, but I can burn that off at the gym later this evening.

It’s a good idea to look at a planetary alignment like this to see where it lands in your own chart before you hit the ground running. With my third house highlighted by this conjunction (and Mercury in its natal home in my third house), the meaning is quite clear to me: communicate, communicate, communicate. It might not be the same for you. For instance, I can see someone with this aspect occurring in their eighth house divulging secrets that they vowed would never cross their lips.

So, have a look at your own horoscope and see what’s up. This is one of those annual astrological events that can reveal a lot about how particular planets function in your own chart if you just bother to pay attention to it.
