September 18 is Greta Garbo’s birthday.
“Ninotchka” provides a perfect example of how most Virgo natives behave in the real world, so it should not be a surprise to anyone that the title character of the classic film was portrayed by a Virgo actress.
For as long as I’ve been an astrologer, I’ve made jokes about how easy it is to get an uptight Virgo native to reveal their true character simply by getting them drunk. Inebriation plays an essential role in “Ninotchka,” and Garbo plays the part as if she knew exactly what she was doing. It always makes me wonder if there was a “been there/done that” episode in her own past that inspired her legendary performance.
The funny thing about the champagne scene in “Ninotchka” is that it reminds me of another famous film scene featuring a Virgo actress. Whenever I think of Claudette Colbert, my mind goes directly to a part of “The Palm Beach Story” where alcohol gets the conversation going. That makes me wonder if Ingrid Bergman, another Virgo screen icon, ever got boozed-up in any of her films. I can’t remember if she did.
I’m not trying to say that every Virgo native becomes a more accurate version of themselves when they’ve downed a couple of drinks, but it is in the nature of the sign to have a somewhat closed-off demeanor. Sometimes, alcohol can be the key that opens them up so that they can tell you what they’re really thinking.
Try if for yourselves. Get a Virgo drunk today!
