Star Struck Style

June 3 is Detox’s birthday.

Gemini natives have done well on “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” taking the crown a couple of times. Both Raja and Violet Chachki are Geminis. Detox made it all the way to the finale of “All-Stars 2,” losing to Alaska in the finale.

Most of the Gemini queens share a particular personality trait: a big mouth that gets them into trouble, especially when the show airs and their confessionals are revealed to their fellow queens. Of course, they all throw shade behind each other’s backs, but the Geminis seem to take it to another level, lending credence to the cliche that they are “two-faced.”

One of the greatest things about Detox is that she was never afraid to say anything to anyone’s face. Curiously, she has the same sun/moon combination as another famous Gemini native: Donald Trump. Sun in Gemini/moon in Sagittarius obviously produces a personality that isn’t afraid to hold back.

Detox actually has four planets in Gemini: the sun, Mercury, Mars and Chiron. Her natal Venus is in detriment in Aries, which can explain why her temper sometimes got the best of her — that’s such an awkward placement. It also can explain why her signature look is all over the place. Violet Chacki has the same shit-talking sun/moon combo, but with a conjunction of the sun and Venus in Gemini and Mercury in Cancer. I suppose the latter placement can explain Violet’s retro shtick. Detox’s aesthetic is a little more difficult to put in a box.

So I won’t try to put it in a box. I’ve got an interesting mutual reception aspect between Mercury in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Gemini in my own chart, and I can understand how anyone with the Gemini/Sagittarius axis highlighted in their horoscope would resent the idea of being labeled. We’re a freedom-loving bunch. I don’t believe that we’re necessarily stubborn, but we do react poorly when anyone tries to pin us down.
