May 29 is Laverne Cox’s birthday.
Of course, I don’t have a time of birth for Laverne Cox. I’d love to know what time she was born because she has a twin brother and it can be fun to compare the charts of twins. I know a set of twins who have Mercury in different houses. I know, right?
But I digress! Laverne Cox not only has the sun in Gemini, but also Venus less than five degrees away (and the north node nestled between the two). She has Mercury in Taurus, and most likely a Taurus moon. However, the moon moved into Gemini in the early evening on the day she was born, so I can’t confirm its position. Without a rising sign or a moon sign, I would feel like I was shooting blanks if were to go much deeper into this horoscope.
Nevertheless, I will mention that she has Mercury and Venus in mutual reception (something that is not terribly uncommon for Gemini natives), and a tight opposition between Mercury in Taurus and Mars in Scorpio. Without a time of birth, I would look to that aspect as the hallmark of her natal chart. Cafe Astrology describes the aspect as follows:
“You can be quick on the trigger when it comes to verbal reactions to others, and you are not always courteous or tactful when it comes to expressing your opinions. You often take things quite personally, and your defensiveness can make it hard for others to have peaceful or productive conversations with you at times. You might often compete for the floor when it comes to expressing your ideas, thoughts, and opinions. You might often find yourself stirring up controversy with what you say, or how you say it.
You are very quick with your perceptions, and you might speak quickly and move quickly as well. You are an energetic worker, and you are excellent at rallying for what you believe in.
You are very witty, and often sarcastic. You are quick to offer an opinion and express your thoughts, often without much sensitivity. Some with this aspect in their charts are prone to lying. You love a good debate, but sometimes turn conversations that needn’t be stressful into arguments.
Your mind is very sharp and critical, and you are insatiably curious. Your mind can be so quick that you are nervous, easily stressed, often over-stimulated, and prone to headaches. Impatience, especially while driving or operating machinery, could lead to accidents.”
I don’t know enough about Laverne Cox personally to know if that description is apt, but I do know that a tight aspect featuring the ruler of the sun sign and another of the more-rapidly moving planets (which happens to reside in one of the signs over which it rules) is going to be of major importance. Too many astrologers focus on minutiae in the horoscope when something like this is staring them in the face. It’s likely what defines Laverne Cox and her twin brother more than anything else.
I could be wrong, but I’m probably not . . .
