April 6 is Paul Rudd’s birthday.
I’m joining the rest of the world today in expressing disbelief that Paul Rudd is fifty years old!
I wish that I could say that I see a definitive reason that he looks so youthful in his natal chart, but I can’t. He does have a lot of Aries influences in his chart, including the sun, Mercury, Venus, Saturn, the midheaven and the north node. I often call Aries natives “the big kids of the zodiac.” However, that in itself doesn’t endow an individual with a youthful appearance.
For what it’s worth, he also has a Cancer ascendant, and both the moon and Mars in Sagittarius in the fifth house. In the article linked to the photo posted above, Rudd mentions that he tries to stay out of the sun. Is that something that someone with Cancer rising would do? Maybe it’s a fifth house thing. I’m the guy who is always claiming that an individual’s personal style is related to a combination of factors that include sun sign, rising sign, Venus placement and fifth-house influences. If you showed me this chart, I would probably tell you that it belongs to someone with pasty white skin who avoids the sun. I do see that in Paul Rudd’s horoscope.
But staying out of the sun doesn’t necessarily make someone look thirty-five when they’re actually fifty. Maybe there’s something for me to learn when I see all those tenth-house planets in his chart, including Saturn. There is a correspondence to Capricorn there, and the typical Capricorn trajectory through life is “old when they’re young, and young when they’re old.”
He does seem to be aging in reverse, so I could be onto something. Hmm . . .
