July 30 is Sandra Diaz-Twine’s birthday.

I’m a huge “Survivor” fan and Sandra Diaz-Twine is my favorite contestant of all time. As the show’s only two-time winner, she is in a class of her own.

While I was looking for a photo of her, I came across a blog post that I wrote eight years ago on my old astrology blog. I was essentially going to regurgitate the same sentiment, not realizing that I had already immortalized my opinion on the internet.

It makes me happy when I read my old blog posts and I don’t feel as if I need to be embarrassed about something that I wrote so many years ago. I use the phrase “the more things change, the more they stay the same” all the time in real life. Nevertheless, I always feel as if I’m evolving.

That’s one of the big differences between a Capricorn goat like me and a lion like Sandra Diaz-Twine. I truly believe that I am always ascending the mountain. I try not to look back, but I can’t help myself because looking back makes me appreciate my journey forward.

Leos individuals, on the other hand, tend to idealize their previous accomplishments. They can stuck in a behavior loop because they already feel as if they have reached the apex. By the time Sandra Diaz-Twine played “Survivor” for a third time, her “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” strategy was well-known to her competitors and she was voted off the island early in the game.

Her early exit didn’t make me love her any less, though. She still is the queen of “Survivor.” If I went on the show, it would probably take me three seasons to figure out how to stick around, just like my fellow Capricorn, Boston Rob. But at least I would win in the end. I have no doubt about that.
