In about ninety minutes from now, the sun enters my fifth house. About ninety minutes ago, Mercury already moved into my fifth house. It’s a good day.

Why do I feel good? Like a lot of people who live in northern latitudes, I get a little pent-up this time of year. The sun transits my fourth house of domestic affairs right around the time when the darkness of the winter becomes oppressive and the weather seems as if it is never going to change.

And then this happens. Not only does the sun enter my fifth house, but it enters a new sign just a moment later. Coincidentally, the third week of February is when the weather generally starts to improve where I live. Just this morning, I could finally see a glow on the horizon before 7:00 AM. As I type this, the sun is streaming through my windows from a much higher position in the sky, actually warming up my living room despite the frigid temperature outdoors.

It all makes me feel optimistic and eager to get out of the house. Maybe in a day or two, it will give me a creative kick-in-the-ass, too, because I haven’t been all that eager to promote my book or other creative ventures. Combined with the ingress of Chiron into my sixth house tomorrow, there are big changes occurring in my chart when I truly feel as if I need a change.

In the words of RuPaul, “I can’t wait to see how this turns out.” It’s been a while since I’ve said that. It’s nice to finally say it again.
