January 27 is Liu Wen’s birthday.

I don’t follow a lot of models on Instagram. The few I do follow aren’t the sort of individuals who measure their worth in “likes.” I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: social media influencers don’t influence me at all. I suppose that you could call me “old school” because I like the celebrities that I worship to have some talent.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that I dismiss everyone who is “internet famous” just because they know how to use social media to their advantage. I adore Liu Wen, and until just a moment ago, I did not appreciate the breadth of her accomplishments.

According to Wikipedia, Liu Wen is “the first model of East Asian descent to walk the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, the first spokesmodel of East Asian descent for Estée Lauder and the first Asian model to ever make Forbes magazine’s annual highest-paid models list. In 2012, The New York Times named her ‘China’s first bona fide supermodel.’ In 2017, she became the first Chinese model to ever appear on the front cover of American Vogue.”

That’s quite a list! I was impressed, so I looked up her chart. Although I don’t have a birth time to put the planets in the houses, I was instantly struck by the “individuality” presented by her horoscope. She has both the sun and Mercury in Aquarius, Jupiter in Aries, and Mars, Saturn and Uranus in Sagittarius.

That last part interests me because Saturn is conjunct Uranus. Liu Wen just experienced a Saturn return on that degree (28°-29° Sagittarius). In 2018, that same degree will be activated a couple more times as Uranus exits Aries, creating a couple of trines in May and November.

Anyone born around the same time in 1988 will feel the influence of these events quite profoundly. I can see many of these individuals experiencing a sudden flash of individuality and making an abrupt, unexpected change to the way they live their lives. Someone like Liu Wen, for instance, could drop out of the fashion business altogether.

I don’t know enough about her personally to predict what will happen (I’ll leave that to her millions of Instagram followers), but I will predict that this is going to be one of the most important years of her life.
