A lot is going on in the sky right now, so I’ve decided to post a quick rundown of planetary events so that you don’t get caught with your pants down, or your skirt up, or your panties in a knot, etc.
Venus entered Sagittarius this morning where it will remain until Christmas Day. Venus was in Scorpio in mutual reception to Mars in Libra. The two planets supported each other during this brief period, offering a little protection from the worst of what the pair has to offer while in their respective “detriments.” With Venus moving out of this harmonious position, Mars is likely to behave quite badly for a few days. More about that in a moment.
Venus in Sagittarius isn’t a particularly strong placement for the planet. What it might inspire in a lot of us is a sort of romantic idealism that can make us wistful as Christmas approaches. We might have a rather inflated idea of “the spirit of Christmas” that can cause us to engage in self-serving behavior under the guise of contributing to the common good. It’s the sort of position that can make people engage in charitable endeavors just so that they can have a photo-op to post on their Instagram page. It can also make people spend too much money on Christmas presents. When Venus moves into Capricorn and meets Saturn on December 25, the harsh reality of living beyond one’s means is going to spoil the arrival of the New Year for a lot of people.
Mars moves into a better position on December 9. In Scorpio, the red planet will behave with more purpose. Direct, decisive action will take the place of passive/aggressive bullshit. Mars made an opposition to Uranus early this morning. The news cycle is already crazy today with the announcement that Michael Flynn will plead guilty for lying to the FBI. Uranus rules over these sort of surprises, but I’m not surprised because I predicted that Karma would be a bitch for a lot of people as 2017 draws to a close. I don’t believe that this “surprise” will be an isolated incident before Mars moves into Scorpio.
Mercury goes retrograde on Sunday, returning to direct motion around December 23. Mercury is weak in Sagittarius. This retrograde phase will be as annoying as usual, but a little less so in the sign of its detriment. The big deal will come around the dates of its station when people are trying to travel home for Christmas. I’m not going out on a limb when I tell you to expect travel delays, etc. Winter storms are often the culprits, but this time there may be something else ruining people’s plans, like a malicious computer virus messing up the reservation systems for the major airlines.
Mercury starts moving again just after the most important planetary event of the year occurs: Saturn slips into Capricorn on December 19 or 20, depending upon where you live. The sun and Venus follow shortly afterward. Reality returns to the world like a slap across the face during the week of Christmas. Authenticity replaces idealism in this New World Order. People who have been operating under the guise of “fairness” will be forced to admit that “fairness” isn’t exactly fair when it only benefits them. Politics will turn to a more practical approach in countries that have been sidelined by these ideologues because there will be no other choice. For all the bad press the sign of Capricorn receives for its “conservative” nature, it is ultimately practical. As a cardinal sign, it points toward a path that not everyone would choose to follow, but it is a straightforward and expedient path. With Saturn in Sagittarius, we have failed to recognize the obstacles on our collective path because we have had our eyes focused on a destination that only exists in our minds.
Well, that’s a lot to think about! Now pull up your pants, or pull down your skirt, and go make the world a better place. It’s going to happen with or without you. A cosmic shift is upon us.
