November 21 is Björk’s birthday.
Björk and I were born only a few weeks apart. We share some generational aspects in our natal charts, including a close conjunction of Uranus and Pluto. We also share Mercury in Sagittarius, Jupiter in Gemini, Saturn in Pisces and Neptune in Scorpio.
Her sun and moon, however, are both in Scorpio. Venus and Mars also share a sign: Capricorn. I can’t trust that the birth time listed on astrotheme.com is correct, so I won’t discuss her rising sign. Nevertheless, I do want to attempt to explain her sense of style.
Katy Perry’s chart shares a few similarities, most notably the Sun and Moon in Scorpio and Mars in Capricorn. I look at both of these women as atypical Scorpios because they seem to be far less guarded than the average Scorpio. I also regard Capricorn as the “branding” sign. The most famous Capricorns of all time have developed a specific brand that belies trends. There are dozens of examples of iconic Capricorn performers whose images endure in pop culture despite the oddness of their brands: Elvis, Dolly Parton, Marlene Dietrich, Patti Smith are all Capricorns. Yet I’ve never stopped to look at Mars placements to determine what sort of effect that might have on self-image or the marketing of an image.
It’s something I need to explore. I once had a book that discussed how Mars affected one’s sense of business acumen. I sold it at my garage sale. Whoops!
