So the secret is out . . .
Honestly, it’s no secret that I’ve been writing a follow-up to my book. I haven’t been that vocal about it because I haven’t really decided what I want to do with it. Publishing has changed so much since the time I wrote “Cosmically Chic.” People are releasing books without publishers, agents, editors, etc. Sure, most of them linger in obscurity, but I don’t believe that I’ll have the same problem. I’m optimistic about this project because I’m good at what I do. It makes a difference when you can actually construct a readable sentence or two. I’m a relentless self-promoter, as well, with confidence to spare. My superiority complex is deeply rooted in my superiority.
Anyway, I’m almost half-finished. I’m going to try to wrap up the Virgo chapter by the end of this week. It’s taking a long time to write, but that’s because I’m plodding along quite methodically, making sure that everything is perfect. Each chapter in my new book is about double the length of a chapter in my old book. I made the choice to offer my readers twice as much content because I’ve noticed that they look twice as bad as they did sixteen years ago. I do what I can!
Just a few minutes ago I was reviewing a list of the fashionable Virgo celebrities I was going to write about when I discovered that Arizona Muse is a Virgo. I’m not sure what to think of that yet, so maybe I’ll include her in my profiles or maybe I won’t. In the meantime, enjoy this lovely photo of her from the cover of French “Vogue.” What a face!
But I digress. If any of my friends would like to discuss my new book, I’m at the point where I’m willing to listen to suggestions about how to proceed with this project. I can be a little overprotective of my creative output because I’ve been ripped off so many times. Nevertheless, I promise that you won’t see me roll my eyes back a hundred times during our conversation when you offer me your advice. If I show up in sunglasses, you’ll understand, right?
