I’m looking forward to November, and especially the new moon on November 10. The new-moon cycle skipped over my first house this year, and I’ve been less “out-there” as a result. However, I have devoted a little more time to introspection and figuring out what I would like to accomplish now the weather has cooled down and my routine has changed. In between brief, unfounded episodes of panicking over my financial situation and paranoid delusions about my self-worth, I’ve learned to settle down and appreciate the life I’ve created for myself once again. Enjoying my current situation should be a lot easier over the next few weeks, and my own horoscope is quite fabulous throughout November.
Not everyone will be feeling so terrific. Some mid-month drama in the sky could have us collectively feeling quite tense. The monthly newsletter from “Astrodienst” spells out this phenomenon:
“The days surrounding this New Moon are influenced by a special astrological configuration: Venus in Libra and Mars in Leo form a sextile on 10 November. Jupiter conjoins the descending lunar node on 11 November, and Mars on 15 November, shortly before the two planets come together on the 16th. Mercury and Venus end their retrograde phases during this time — Mercury on 13 November and Venus on the 14th.
It is an excellent time to devote yourself courageously and wholeheartedly to an important project, a shared cause, or a major goal. What matters most now is your own drive but also the personal attitude underlying your actions. Jupiter and Mars in Leo remind us of the nearly forgotten archetype of the noble knight who courageously stands up for what is good and true. Acting out of noble motives can generate a powerful momentum of its own that not only promises success but can also bring a great deal of meaning and fulfillment to your own life. However, this should not be driven by selfish motives. The energy of this time calls on you to put your strength at the service of the collective.
Be aware, however, that during this time, strong and potentially destructive counterforces may also emerge, which will try to nip impulses for social change in the bud by any means necessary — especially if political power is at stake. On 18 and 19 November, under the influence of a square between the Sun, Mars, and Jupiter, and a trine between Chiron, Mars, and Jupiter, a clarification of power dynamics may be on the horizon — especially since all the planets involved are connected to the nodal axis.”
Reading all this less than a week before the American elections has me feeling encouraged. Donald Trump, Flávio Bolsanaro and Benjamin Netanyahu will likely be pulling some stunts to stay in power, but this forecast seems to put the power back into the hands of the collective: exactly what was expected when Pluto finally left Capricorn and entered Aquarius several months ago. Slowly, but steadily, the world is opening its eyes to the corruption and collusion that has been going on in the highest levels of government.
Personally, I could choose to be noble and stand up for what is good and true, but I believe that I have been doing that already. What I need to do is to take advantage of the Venus/Mars sextile that forms harmonious aspects to my natal Jupiter at the same time that the sun shines a light on my Pluto/Chiron axis. I think I need to focus on where I’m headed in the future instead of worrying about whether or not the rest of the world will continue to slow-walk themselves into fascism. At the same time, it’s in my nature to be political. Perhaps I can do both. That would be the noble thing to do.
Hopefully, the stars are going to endow me with the power to focus on two things at once. Looking at my chart for the month ahead, I think they will. I guess I’ll find out soon enough . . .
