Transiting Mercury is about to conjoin my midheaven after its recent retrograde cycle. “Café Astrology” describes the transit as follows:
“It’s easy to communicate effectively at this time, as you are speaking to an audience and careful about the words you select to express yourself. You may communicate with superiors or present an idea to business associates now. In some cases, you might be in the position to speak or communicate before the public. You are especially clear-headed and rational about career matters, making this a good time to schedule business appointments or for getting (or giving) advice.
There’s a strong tendency to think and talk about your career, work, responsibilities, life path, or long-term goals today. You might initiate discussions, announce your plans, or make a meaningful connection.”
Both Jupiter and the sun are already traveling through my tenth house, so my sense of ambition — professionally speaking — has already been on my mind. I’ve picked up extra shifts at both of my jobs, and I’m planning on making the next five weeks or so about earning some extra money. But other than that, I’m not entirely sure that climbing up the corporate ladder is in the stars for me. I’m quite content right now because I seem to have time for everything that I want to do.
Aside from having these three planets in my tenth house, my horoscope is quite well-balanced at the moment. As a result, my priorities are neither here nor there, but rather spread out in a manner that mirrors the planets in the sky. It’s such a comfortable place for someone with a third-house sun. I’m always referring to myself as a “Jack-of-all-trades,” and I’m at my best when I am not forced to be focused on one thing in particular.
Nevertheless, I could experience a realignment of my priorities without knocking myself off-balance. If something came up that made me feel as if a more-rewarding future was just over the horizon, I would be willing to shift my focus. The tenth house can be a rigid place where we cultivate our sense of discipline, but it’s also a place where someone like me will embrace his innate cardinality. I won’t be rigid just for the sake of being rigid. If the opportunity to climb a rung or two up the ladder came along tomorrow, I’d likely take it.
Regardless of what happens, I feel as if I’m ready for whatever comes my way. I might even reach for the stars . . .
