Transiting Venus enters my third house this evening where it will remain for exactly one month. “Café Astrology” provides the following interpretation for the annual event:

“You are mostly cheerful in your approach to others, and perhaps somewhat intellectual, during this transit. Essentially, you are quite companionable now. You enjoy talking about what interests you, and you find great value in the exchange of ideas. Sometimes this transit brings benefit through siblings, communications, or short trips. During this period, you are most attracted to wit, cheerfulness, and verbal rapport. You are especially good at mediating conflicts. Smoothing over differences using your diplomacy skills figures now.”

That sounds like a good forecast. I’m eager for Venus to leave my second house because I keep getting emails about terrific sales on things that I don’t need, and I’m having a difficult time deleting them as quickly as I should. Perhaps this shift of focus from the house that rules over my personal possessions to the house that rules over my big mouth will do me some good. I’d be happy to be “mostly cheerful” for a while.

To be perfectly honest, I do believe that I’m friendly and diplomatic by nature. However, I’m also quite a snob, and I often find myself looking down my nose at people who are beneath me. But it’s not a class thing. When people have bad manners, I respond in kind — even with a lecture sometimes. I have to watch my tendency to admonish people for their bad behavior, and maybe Venus will help me to do that.

On the other hand, I don’t believe that I’ll want to pass up the opportunity to tell America to go fuck itself every chance I get on social media, but stranger things have happened. Maybe this transit will usher in a kinder, gentler era for me.

I guess I’ll find out soon enough. Now I just need to make it through the rest of the day without buying those Bally trainers I just saw in my size for 70% off . . .
