I had a terrific day yesterday. I got a lot done around the house, a lot done in the yard, and I also felt as if I made some progress with my yoga practice. I have a few minor issues with my legs and hips that were not getting any better while I had a job that had me stuck behind a desk. What’s more, I kept slipping on icy sidewalks over the winter and exacerbating those issues. That made it difficult for me to do all the things I wanted to do to stay fit. As a result, I gained more “winter weight” than I usually do.

Anyway, I’m starting to feel as if I’m on the upswing again as far as my health is concerned. Curiously, Mercury just moved into my seventh house where it will conjoin Chiron later this evening. This alignment has me feeling “connected” with my current state of well-being — as if I know exactly what I need to do to keep up the momentum I have initiated.

Yesterday, I published a post that discussed the Taurus sun’s trine to my Capricorn sun. In four months from now, the sun will trine itself from Virgo. For the 120 days in between those two events, I’m really going to try to work on my fitness because I would like to be lean again. It’s easy for me to do because I am energized by the sunshine: having Libra as a rising sign means that I’ve always got a few planets climbing to the top of my chart this time of year. I can take advantage of that upward trajectory to focus on specific goals. In this case, this Mercury/Chiron conjunction in my seventh house is not only telling me to take my physical health more seriously, but also to understand the relationship between my superficial appearance and the impact that has upon my mental health. I want other people to notice that I’m leaner because that makes me feel a sense of accomplishment.

Yeah, I shouldn’t be so concerned about how others perceive me, but I am. The stars aren’t lining up in a way to make me feel any differently, so I might as well work with them. As the old adage goes, I’m going to “make hay while the sun is shining” and try to use this time of year to be the slim guy I’ve wanted to be for the last few years.

Wish me luck.
