Star Struck Style

How weird is this? I just read this post I published on this day four years ago, moments after I just purchased my first piece by Dries Van Noten, and a couple of days after everyone in the fashion world praised Matthieu Blazy for not doing what Daniel Lee did when he was at Bottega Veneta. Now Daniel Lee is putting his energy into Burberry in a way that seems like a better fit for a guy who likes to broadcast brand signatures across the galaxy, and Dries Van Noten is doing what Dries Van Noten always does by marching to the beat of his own drum.

Saturn isn’t in Aquarius anymore, but Pluto is in the sign. I obviously can see some parallels between these transits and how they are impacting the way that these major brands are doing business in 2024.

Anyway, I did promise myself that I wasn’t going to be shopping compulsively for the foreseeable future. This morning I was playing poker online. I have a very reasonable weekly budget to spend on gambling, and this week I won. I used that money to buy my fabulous Dries Van Noten jeans that will be replacing my other dark-wash jeans that are literally on their last legs. You can’t have the tree-trunk thighs of a lifelong fitness trainer and expect your jeans to not wear out at the top of the legs/base of the crotch. I’d like to repair the jeans I have, but that is literally the worst place for a pair of jeans to have a blow out.

It’s a good start to a week that I expected to be good. In between now and the time I go to Vegas in April, I should have the stars on my side. I hope that this won’t be the last time I publish a post about these wonderful cosmic coincidences!
