Mars enters my third house this coming Friday. “Café Astrology” describes the transit as follows:
“You are likely to have many ideas and plans going during this transit, and you might be inclined to scatter your energies as a result. Channeled well, this is a good time to sell your ideas to others, or to present your case. You may be especially busy running errands and communicating with others. More articulate than usual, you may also have a more assertive, self-centered, or provocative communication style at this time. As such, discussions may become heated, or they may escalate into arguments, more easily. If this is the case, it’s likely because you are taking things very personally right now, or because you are over-identifying with your beliefs and ideas. A tendency to be impatient or impulsive while driving or while performing manual tasks, generally with the hands, may lead to accidents, so it’s wise to be careful on the road or while operating machinery or even using scissors! This is an excellent time to work on intellectual tasks with more vigor and passion.”
I’ve already resolved to keep my thoughts mostly to myself over the next few weeks. With the new moon about to occur in my third house, and Mercury about to go retrograde in the same sector of my horoscope, I’m pretty sure that my big mouth is going to get me into trouble if I can’t stop “over-identifying” with my beliefs. I’m going to need to subordinate my ego while all these planets have ganged up in this part of my chart — especially when they begin to form oppositions to my ninth-house Jupiter.
On the bright side, I’ve got a couple of weeks of regular shifts ahead of me, and then I get three four-day work weeks in a row. After that, I work another five-day week, and then I get a week of vacation time. It will be a lot easier for me to stay out of trouble if I’m not in a place where arguments are likely to occur, like my place of work. Still, that’s not the only place I’ll need to zip it. I can just as likely get into arguments at home, during holiday gatherings, or even on social media.
I can choose to scatter my energies instead. I’m good at doing a hundred things at once, so maybe I should just focus on the distraction that multitasking provides me. On that note, I’ve got plenty of things to do today, and sitting at this computer isn’t one of them . . .
