Star Struck Style

December 28 is Laganja Estranja’s birthday.

Like almost everyone else in the world, I found Laganja Estranja to be insufferable during Season 6 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” I was ashamed that she was a part of my Capricorn club.

But everyone knows that a Capricorn native is like a fine wine that just gets better with age. A couple of days ago, I watched an episode of Yuhua Hamasaki’s “Bootleg Opinions” on YouTube that featured Laganja as a guest. I actually enjoyed her commentary. She wasn’t annoying at all!

I honestly can’t imagine how annoying I would have been if I had been given a platform when I was young. Laganja wasn’t exactly a kid when she appeared on RPDR, but she obviously wasn’t very mature. A few years later, she seems to have developed some self-awareness and some faith in her own talent. She’s a terrific drag queen and she doesn’t need to suck all the oxygen out of the room in order to make a good impression upon the viewers.

Curiously, the other most-obnoxious contestant of all time is also a Capricorn. I wonder if that means that I’ll eventually start to like Silky Nutmeg Ganache?
