“Big Brother 22” premiered last night and I couldn’t be more excited about it!

I’m one of those people who adores “All-Stars” seasons on competitive reality shows like “Big Brother,” “Survivor” and “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” Casting former house guests on a show like “Big Brother” means a few things. First of all, there are no idiots in the house who have no idea how to play the game. Next, the cast is older, wiser and far less likely to do stupid things that screw up the show so that almost no one is evicted due to poor game play (like half the cast of the recently-abandoned Season 8 of “Big Brother Canada”). Also, it doesn’t take a couple of weeks to figure out who you like and who you don’t like: you already have well-established relationships with the cast. And finally, the potential for showmances is greatly reduced when you don’t cast a bunch of twenty-something fame whores.

Anyway, I’ve compiled a list of the house guests’ zodiac signs. Like the last season of “Survivor,” Capricorns dominate the cast. But a Capricorn didn’t win “Survivor: Winners at War” as I predicted, even though a couple of them came close. Tony Vlachos, the show’s second two-time winner, is a Virgo (the only other two-time winner, Sandra Diaz-Twine, is a Leo). This cast has a single Virgo house guest, and one who doesn’t seem like a much of a threat at first glance. It also has an Aquarius native. Shea Couleé, an Aquarius herself, just took the crown on Season 5 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars.” I predicted that one correctly because there were three Aquarius queens in the cast, including the odds-on favorite.

Even though a quarter of the house guests share my Capricorn sun, I’m going to predict that a Capricorn will win this season of “Big Brother” — only because I want Janelle to win! She’s the greatest competitor in the history of this show, and contestants that want to win make this show worth watching. I hope that I haven’t jinxed her by picking her as my number-one.
