May 12 is Dries Van Noten’s birthday.
I’m pretty sure of myself when I write about the connection between fashion and astrology. However, there are a few things that don’t seem to make any sense to me.
For instance, I’m confused by Dries Van Noten. I often discuss Taurus designers as the best employees in the zodiac: the people you want running your namesake label. Dries Van Noten runs his own label. Not only that, he runs a business that is as independent and distinctive as any other brand in fashion. That’s why I slotted him into the Aquarius chapter of “Star Struck Style.”
I had a look at his chart to see if there was anything I could see that would make me understand why he is the way he is. I really didn’t see much. I don’t have a time of birth to put the planets in the houses, but I’m not sure how much that would help me. I’m still confused by what he does.
He does have a Mercury/Jupiter opposition, like me. I often discuss the Venus/Saturn conjunctions and oppositions that I find in the charts of fashion designers because they confuse me. I would expect that aspect to thwart creativity rather than inspire it. The Mercury/Jupiter opposition is something that I would expect to close someone off a bit, and yet I have it in my own chart. I’m also a weirdo who doesn’t like being told what to do, like Dries Van Noten. Just try to tell me what’s good for my career and you’ll quickly learn what I mean.
Maybe I need to look into that aspect with a more-open mind. It does define me, so why wouldn’t it define anyone else who possesses it?
