The sun forms a trine with my natal Jupiter over the next few days. It’s a favorable transit associated with feelings of optimism and goodwill. My daily horoscope on astro.com for tomorrow offers the following prediction for the biannual alignment:
“This influence assures a day of good feelings, peace and harmony with others. But you should try to use its energy to accomplish something good and useful for yourself. The temptation is to enjoy the good feelings and let the day slip by without paying any special attention. The enthusiasm, optimism and buoyancy associated with this influence will enable you to project energies into the environment that will help your affairs work out as you want. This may appear to be luck, but it is not really. Consciously or unconsciously, in your daily routine you operate with great understanding of the overall patterns, and you act with more foresight and consideration than usual. If you do benefit from ‘dumb luck,’ it is a consequence of something you have done in the recent past.”
Honestly, I would be thrilled to simply benefit from “dumb luck.” I’ve been playing the lottery for my entire life, and I still haven’t had a win that I would consider to be a “jackpot.”
While that isn’t likely to happen, I might get lucky and find something to wear to celebrate the Chinese new year. I’d like to buy myself some kind of “talisman” that represents the new year. Last year, for instance, I bought two different shirts festooned with snakes. Just a couple of days ago, I noticed a nice “Year of the Horse” shirt in the Canada Goose store. It was quite expensive, so I’m going to continue to look around. I’ve got a week to shop before the arrival of the celebratory lunar new year next Tuesday. I can probably find something at the Levi’s store for next to nothing as cowboy culture is quite stylish at the moment.
I’m not really into Chinese astrology, but something about the symbolism of the discipline resonates with me, and I enjoy being surrounded by “lucky charms.” Having a little magic in my life is a lot more fun than having no magic at all. It’s like playing the lottery. You can’t win if you don’t have a ticket, right?
So, I’m just going to keep on playing until I win. Hopefully, that will be sometime this week. And maybe I’ll be wearing a “Year of the Horse” shirt when it happens . . .
