Mars moves into my third house in a couple of days from now. Curiously, I’ve already picked up some extra shifts at my various jobs because I haven’t had much to do since the cold weather arrived in this part of the world. My intuition must have been telling me that I would be entering a busier period because I’ve already got the next few weeks planned out. “Café Astrology” confirms that this is about to be a more-active phase than the one I’m currently experiencing:
“You are likely to have many ideas and plans going during this transit, and you might be inclined to scatter your energies as a result. Channeled well, this is a good time to sell your ideas to others, or to present your case. You may be especially busy running errands and communicating with others. More articulate than usual, you may also have a more assertive, self-centered, or provocative communication style at this time. As such, discussions may become heated, or they may escalate into arguments, more easily. If this is the case, it’s likely because you are taking things very personally right now, or because you are over-identifying with your beliefs and ideas. A tendency to be impatient or impulsive while driving or while performing manual tasks, generally with the hands, may lead to accidents, so it’s wise to be careful on the road or while operating machinery or even using scissors! This is an excellent time to work on intellectual tasks with more vigor and passion.”
That’s welcome news because I have been kind of bored and uninspired for the last couple of weeks. But I’ve also felt as if I needed a physical, mental and spiritual reset. I’ve allowed myself the opportunity to sit back and evaluate the consequences of my decision to work less, and I’ve come to the conclusion that I made the right decision. Now is the time to settle into the new routine I’ve created for myself. It’s also the time to congratulate myself for adopting a routine that isn’t nearly as regimented as the one that was driving me crazy at the beginning of the year.
For as long as I’ve been writing this blog, I’ve been describing myself as a “Jack of all trades.” My third house sun and third house Mercury are the reason that I can do a million things at once. I excel at being busy, just as long as I’m not stuck in one place all the time. Like a bee, my plans might change according to the weather or the time of year, and I need to be able to adapt to those changes while I go about my own business.
Sometimes I forget what a third-house character I am. That was my problem at the beginning of the year, and I am thrilled that I addressed that issue before it was too late. With Mars moving into that part of my chart for the first time in a couple of years, I am once again reminded that I am at my best when I’m buzzing around from one thing to another like a bee on the lookout for the sweetest nectar. My life is better when I’m on the move.
