Venus moves into my first house this coming Monday evening. I’m looking forward to the ingress because it promises me that I’ll be at my best. “Café Astrology” describes the annual transit as follows:
“You could find it hard to deny yourself anything during this cycle! This is a time when you naturally let loose your softer, receptive side. Romantic matters, as well as pleasure-seeking activities, come to the fore now. You are more likely to pay closer attention to your physical appearance and mannerisms, aiming to improve and enhance your attractiveness. Others find you agreeable and cooperative.”
I’m slightly concerned that I might “find it hard” to deny myself anything once my ruling planet joins the sun in my first house. What’s more, I’ve got both Mercury and Mars transiting my second house, highlighting my possessions. I could find myself shopping for things I don’t need again.
Nevertheless, I’m feeling good already because I’m happy to be working at the jobs I have even though I’m not making the kind of money that I believe I deserve. The current lack of stress in my life is showing up in my appearance: I look fantastic for a guy on the cusp of his sixtieth birthday. I feel great, too. I’ll be visiting my doctor this coming week to discuss some recent lab work, and I’m expecting to hear nothing but good news.
I just finished reading an article on “The Guardian” about the word “luxury” and what it means in today’s world. The funny thing is that I’ve been thinking about how I truly live a life of luxury — even when I’m underemployed. My life is so easy right now, and once Venus enters my first house, it should get even easier. I just need to be sure that I don’t take any of this for granted because things change. At the beginning of this year, I had a bad case of the winter blues and I found myself spending money I didn’t have in order to make myself feel better. With the planets lined up the way that they are, I really do need to keep my decadence in check while the stars are giving me a thumbs-up to spoil myself. Everything could change tomorrow.
All the same, I’m going to take advantage of the current cosmic climate. It feels good to feel good.
